Do you know that toy maker Super7 hosts its own crowdfunding campaigns like Hasbro and Mattel do? Well, if you don’t know, now you know. And do you there was a crowdfunding campaign for a massive Super7 G.I. Joe ReAction Vehicle Cobra Mothership? It should be an exciting event but unfortunately, the campaign did gather enough backers to proceed. But still, we are going to talk about it as a homage to this failed campaign.
The Cobra Mothership, designed to scale with 3.75” ReAction Figures and vintage G.I. Joe O-Ring Figures, measures a mind-blowing 32 inches (81 cm!) in diameter. It includes three vertical Thruster display stands for a dynamic ‘taking off’ display.
The ship’s exterior features hidden defense turrets, 16 light-up thrusters, and a rear ramp for deploying Cobra troops. By removing the top five exterior panels, you can access the interior, which boasts a Command Center with a rotating Giant Globe, an armory for weapon storage, a prison cell with functional handcuffs, explosives storage near the rear ramp, and more, making it a highly detailed and interactive playset.
Unfortunately, it did not make it. Otherwise, it would have made a perfect addition to any Joe’s fans collection. Perhaps the asking price of US$495 is what ended it. At nearly 500 bucks it is even more pricey than the HasLab’s pricest G.I. Joe collectible, the H.I.S.S. Tank which went for US$299.99.
