The mention of a guitar effect conjures the image of foot-activated pedals or an effect rack with a floor controller. Well, not anymore thanks to the Casio Dimension Tripper. With Dimension Tripper, activating the effect is closer to you than you think.
The Casio Dimension Tripper is a wireless strap effect controller that attaches to your guitar strap and wirelessly connects to an effect device which then allows players to control sound effects like distortion during play by expanding and contracting the device.
This frees the players from having to physically step on the pedal and therefore expands the possibilities of live performances and guitar expressions.
Moreover, the device when used with a foot-operated volume pedal or effect pedal, you can achieve dual effect control – an effect that was previously not easy to pull off.
It is a novel idea but how well it works remains to be seen. The Dimension Tripper Wireless Strap Effect Controller is currently being funded in Japan via Green Funding where Japanese consumers can secure a unit for 35,200 yen (around US$248).
