following the EU standardization to use microUSB charging, Apple has quietly slip in a wee accessory into its Apple UK web store. basically, it is the familiar 30-pin connector with a microUSB receptacle to facilitate the use of microUSB cable for charging. it is a nice thought for Apple to make the move for the benefit of existing users, even though third party solutions have been floating around for sometime now. if you happen to be residing in EU countries, you will be forgiven to miss this little tiny accessory as the hype about the next iPhone takes into full swing but of course, that’s over now and it is back to looking at the small little things that makes this phone so fun to use. a seemingly unimportant accessory but it is an important step into integrating into the EU standard. come to think of it. will Apple package this £8 accessory in future iPhone set? at least, in the EU? personally, i think it should be made available to the rest of the world too. oh, btw, 8 pounds is pretty dear for something this small and for a standard that’s not regulated by us, consumers. a rebate for EU consumers would be perfect.
