What has cult TV cartoon series The Simpsons has to do with cycling? Nothing. What has the iconic pink donut in the The Simpsons got to do with cycling? Nothing either. However, that does not make the The Simpsons x State Bicycle Co. Limited Edition Accessories, a collaboration between State and Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products (FCP) and The Simpsons, any less desirable. In fact, I thought the collection of hats, backpack, apparels, and bicycle/cycling accessories, are oddly attractive. It could be the pink donut(s) that decorated the various merchandises that makes them so irresistible. In a gender-stereotyping way of looking at it, pink is not quite the color for dudes, but pink donut(s) on the other hand makes all the difference. Continue reading State Bicycle Co. Teamed Up With The Simpsons Some Donut-ish Accessories
At the first glance, this dissected Ralph Wiggum looks like an illustration that you may see coming from illustrator Jason Freeny, but it is not. It is an incredibly realistic 3D cake. What??? As unbelievable as it is, this is really a cake featuring Ralph Wiggum, son of Police Chief Wiggum from the longest-running American sitcom, The Simpsons and is the work of British Columbia-based designer Kylie Mangles of Freshly Squeez’d. It was an entry for Threadcakes, an online competition where folks make cakes based on Threadless T-shirt designs. Continue reading Dissected Ralph Wiggum Cake Looks Morbidly Delicious. What???
every year there are things and events celebrating their 25 years, but this year, no one can do so more deservingly than The Simpsons. it is now the longest-running American sitcom, the longest-running American animated program (that isn’t a reboot, if we may add), and is the longest-running scripted primetime television series. and it happens to have a movie to its name too, which was released back in 2007 and have since grossed over $527 million. with that kind of achievements, it certainly has more meaning to its 25 years than any other commercial products, and for that, there is nothing more fitting than to have the icon of the series, Homer, sculpted in the likeness of the Buddha and painted in silver (silver jubilee, in case you haven’t got it already). Continue reading Homer Attained Enlightenment, Became a, erhm… Silver Donut Buddha?

you have seen, or perhaps acquired the LEGO The Simpsons House Set, but nothing about The Simpsons is complete without a collection of minifigures of the lovable Springfield residents. it is almost like a mandatory thing these days; if it is cast in LEGO minifigure, it moves up a notch to the legend or icon status. so it is about time that these Springfielders get their fair share of immortality – in ABS. but don’t expect a whole depth of it; you are looking at the basic characters without any variations or whatsoever that have been featured throughout the TV series’ 25 years. yes. The Simpsons is already a quarter of a century old and Homer hasn’t changed a bit. Continue reading LEGO The Simpsons Minifigures
LEGO is a constant and when mixed with any pop culture of our time, it can only spell awesome and the 71006 LEGO The Simpsons House Set is one such awesome. no kidding. i practically grew up with The Simpsons, not even South Park can detract me from familiar phrases like “you suck-diddly-uck, Flanders.” anyway, here it is, the ultimate marriage between two things we adore: LEGO and The Simpsons, and the result is a 2,523-piece of masterpiece waiting to be built, featuring removable roof and hinged in the middle that opens up to the innards of Homer family’s habitat with all the details as you have remembered from the 25-year-old TV series. it comes with the mandatory garage too, complete with workbench, tool rack, vacuum cleaner, broom, toolbox, tools and the all-so-familiar pink family car with the signature dent. take one of the world’s most loved TV family (and the longest scripted show in TV history to boot) and put them together with the one of the world’s most recognizable footwear such as Converse, and you will witness the coolest sneakers on earth and that for the record, my friend, is none other than The Simpsons Chuck Taylor All Star. the exciting collection consists of three adult size sneakers, plus a trio for the juniors. to be fair, there are really only three designs, as the kicks for junior’s shares the same design as two of the adult size pairs. basically, like any collaborations, these sneakers give you the best of what Chuck Taylor All Star has to offer, decorated in colorful screen printed graphics of the characters from The Simpsons family, including one pair dedicated to Homer (featuring his signature exclamation “D’oh” and “Woo Hoo!“), one featuring Bart scribbling on the black chalkboard (being punished, obviously), and one sporting the usual Homer-pissed-off-with-Bart graphics along with the girls of the family. awesome stuff.
