When it comes to no-holds barred and eccentric off-roading vehicles, no one knows it better than the Russians. We have seen pretty mind-blowing contraptions from the amphibious bike to the monster truck-like SUV that is capable of pedaling across water to the 8×8 ATV monstrosity, and today, we saw this: the Rocket Z SUV (designated КРЕЧЕТ Z 210-91 in Russian) from TechnoImpulse, a Russian company that specializes in extreme exploration vehicles.
No prize for guessing why Rocket Z SUV why this ride is being featured here. Just look at it. It is the ride that has all the DNA of what we have seen so far from mother Russian, but with added touch of sophistication. And it looks kinda of cute to some extend. It is a ride that will send shivers down other road users. A ride that is good for your daily grocery runs, but at the same time, satisfying your mobility needs in the event of a zombie apocalypse.
OK. Maybe just peace time outdoor adventure, cos’ it will be needing a few more custom add-ons to qualify it as a zombie fighting platform. But as far as off-roading is concerned, Rocket Z SUV have you covered with 4×4 drive, a 100 HP turbodiesel motor, ridiculously ground clearance, enormous off-road rubbers, power-steering boosters, a front winch, a tow-bar, and high-power Hella lighting for night movement.
Despite its somewhat ‘chubby’ look, the Rocket Z SUV is totally capable of packing in 9 people. However, if you need a little more footings and ferry more people/cargo, TechnoImpulse also offers a 6×6 model (designated КРЕЧЕТ Z 310-91) that has a capacity for up to 11 people.
I don’t know how you can acquired the TechnoImpulse Rocket Z SUV since it appears to be available in Russia only, but we do know how much it will cost over there. The TechnoImpulse Rocket Z SUV starts at 5,600,000 Ruble, which works out to be around US85,000.
