Getting products you buy online—including automobiles—delivered to your home is nothing new. It’s kind of an everyday thing now. However, ordering a car online and having it drive itself straight from the factory to your home? That’s possibly the most futuristic car sale ever.

To demonstrate the capability of its FSD (Full Self-Driving), Tesla recently made history by having a Model Y drive itself from Gigafactory Texas to its new owner’s home. And no, there was nobody inside the car. It was just the car, going to meet its new owner. That’s all.
The new owner’s home was about 30 minutes from the factory, and in between, the brand-new Model Y crossed parking lots, got onto highways, and drove through the city to reach its destination. During the journey, the car made decisions on its own—overtaking, stopping, and whatnot. I believe it even hit speeds of up to 68 miles an hour.
I guess that’s a milestone for Tesla. Welcome to the future, folks.
