When it comes to rain wear or jacket, no one seems to know better than Mission Workshop. The Sans Microlight Rain Jacket you see here is another example. It is a 3-layer jacket that is both waterproof and windproof, and with a weight of just 5.6 oz. (about 156g), it is among the lightest waterproof jackets in the world, while not sacrificing the look and feel of an actual jacket. In other words, it functions as a rain jacket without looking like one.
Key highlights of this stretchable outwear includes adjustable hood with anatomic construction, a full-size zippered chest pocket, YKK weatherproof zipper, duly-taped seams, laser-drilled underarm ventilation holes, and a 50 gsm 3-layer fabric specially fomented for Mission Workshop by Toray in Japan that boasts Toray’s ultra high performance Entrant microporous membrane that is impermeable to water while remaining breathable.
Technically speaking, this material has a water column rating 30,000 and MVTR of over 30,000. The style, on the other hand, is pretty much self-explanatory. What this means is, it suited for all kinds of activities, in and outside of the city, come rain or shine – all while looking sharp. The Sans Microlight Rain Jacket is made in Portugal with fabric coming from Japan. It is now available on Mission Workshop website with an asking price of $475.
