Airbnb Invites New Yorkers To Sleep Under The New Year’s Ball In Times Square

New York’s Ball Drop will go virtual because of the pandemic. The countdown will proceed and the Ball will descent as usual, but it will be live streamed instead. I am sure there are people who are going to defy staying home and appear at Times Square anyways.

Nobody can ascertain their safety if they do so, but we can be sure that two lucky person will be safe and sound – thanks to Times Square Ball with Airbnb and Nasdaq.

Airbnb and Nasdaq have partnered to offer New Yorkers a chance to make Times Square their home for just one night under the New Year’s Eve Ball, on December 31st, 2020.

Hosted by Mariah, t he private room in dome house offers an outdoor terrace in a cosy igloo-like geodesic dome with panoramic views of the sparkling crustal ball located just meters away. In other words, you will be closer to the Ball than you would during non-pandemic times.

There will be a complementary trunk full of New Year’s Even accessories, including hats, 2021 glasses, horns and whatnot for a proper countdown party (albeit for just two person).

Other highlights include an indoor lounge with TV, fully-stocked dining area, dinner prepared by a private chef, and a complimentary piece of crystal from this year’s Waterford crystal ball design for your to bring home as a keep sake. In addition, guests will received a US$5,000 shopping credit to use before staying along NYC’s famous 5th Avenue or local Time Square shops.

Booking for the US$21 a night stay was opened at 9AM EST on December 21, 2020. Not surprisingly, it was promptly snapped up.
