If you’re a big fan of Transformers, then this upcoming limited-edition timepiece from Seiko should be right up your alley. U-Treasure Co., Ltd., a Japanese brand that fuses pop culture with jewelry, has announced the launch of a limited edition Transformers timepiece in collaboration with watchmaker Seiko.
This wristwatch marks the first-ever collaboration between Takara Tomy’s Transformers and Seiko Watch, featuring the iconic Autobot leader, Optimus Prime. Although there isn’t an obvious image of Optimus Prime, there are plenty of distinct elements.
To begin with, the watch proudly displays Optimus Prime’s red and blue color scheme, complete with a navy blue watch band. The watch face features a red dial with blue subdials, along with subtle mechanical details on the red dial. Prominently placed at the 12 o’clock mark is the Autobot emblem, while an image of the Matrix of Leadership encloses the subdial at the 6 o’clock mark. The subdial’s blue design boasts a triangular pattern with a subtle yellow/goldish ring, reminiscent of the core of the Matrix. The other two subdials sport a fading grid pattern, as seen in the cartoon. The crown bears an engraving of the Energon cube.
On the case back, you’ll find the Transformers branding etched against the iconic grid pattern often associated with the Transformers cartoon, alongside the edition number XXX/300. Yes, this exclusive piece is part of a limited run, with only 300 available. The watch is powered by a Japanese quartz movement and features a 47 mm by 39.8 mm case. It also comes with a curved hardlex crystal and navy blue cowhide band. It is water-resistant up to 10ATM (100 meters/330 feet).
U-Treasure is accepting pre-orders for the Transformers x Seiko Chronograph Watch from now until January 10, 2024. It appears to be available in Japan only, priced at 59,400 yen [JP] (approximately US$397).
