Six Flags 2015

if you are seriously passionate about thrill rides and are undaunted by the recent safety lapses and unfortunate (and sometimes fatal) accidents, then you might be interested in what Six Flags has to offer for 2015. eleven new thrill rides and attractions will opening in 2015 across 10 locations in North America (well, maybe a bit of the South), including Six Flags Over Georgia, Six Flags Great America, Six Flags Over Texas, Six Flags Fiesta Texas, Great Escape, Six Flags Magic Mountain, Six Flags New England, Six Flags Great Adventure, Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, Six Flags St. Louis, Six Flags America, Six Flag White Water, and Six Flags Mexico in Mexico City.

Wicked Cyclone – Six Flags New England, Western Massachusetts
Wicked Cyclone is the first hybrid roller coaster in the East Coast slated to open its door in summer 2015. highlights of this 10-story tall coaster include a ball-crushing 78-degree vertical drop, world’s only double reverse banking hill, two zero-G head-over-heel rolls, 200-degree upside down hanging stall and up to 55 mph top speed.

Dare Devil – Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, Vallejo, California
Dare Devil is a single looping coaster for lovers of upside-down rides. it is pendulum-style ride shares similar concept as the classic pirate ship ride, gets you to swing back and forth and eventually sending you and 23 others hanging upside down at 70 feet.

Bourbon Street Fireball – Six Flags America, Baltimore/Washington DC
the Bourbon Street Fireball is essentially the Dare Devil, a pendulum-style ride, but dressed in another them. it stands seven stories high and offers upside down thrill seekers the hanging sensation at 70 feet off the ground.

Looping Dragon – Six Flags Adventure, Jackson, New Jersey
again, the Looping Dragon is similar to the Dare Devil and the Bourbon Street Fireball, which is a pendulum-style, looping ride that takes you up to 7 stories high. however, in the Looping Dragon case, each session takes up to 20 riders.

The JOKER Chaos Coaster – Six Flags Over Georgia, Atlanta, Georgia
the JOKER Chaos Coaster is yet another looping coaster to goes up to 72 feet high, sending you and 21 others back and forth like life’s a joke. so yeah. basically, it is the Dare Devil, the Bourbon Street Fireball, the Looping Dragon, in Joker guise. good effort, but can’t imagine the money Six Flags has to drop to get Joker into the picture.

BATMAN: The Ride – Six Flags Fiesta Texas, San Antonio, Texas
hailed as the latest in coastering technology and design, BATMAN: The Ride is the world’s first to use magnetic coaster technology to flip you as you fly over the top of a 12-story hill and two beyond 90-degree vertical drops (free fall fanatics, take note), and finally, through to six full inversions. all in a Batman-theme setting, complete with a full-scale Batmobile, Bat-signal and special effects.

Twisted Colossus – Six Flags Magic Mountain, Los Angeles, California
Magic Mountain’s iconic woodie will be reborn as Twisted Colossus and will be the world’s longest hybrid coaster. it is slated to open in spring 2015 and boasts thrilling features like zero G roll on 360 degrees twisted tracks, a balls-in-your-mouth 128-foot drop at an astonishing steep 80-degrees angle, 18 airtime hills and 2 lift hills. there are two extra thrill elements, one known as “Top Gun Stall”, which is an inversion where the train slows down upside down and “High Five”, where two trains pass through an overbooked turn facing each other, creating an illusion that you can reach out and ‘high five’ the opposing train’s riders.

JUSTICE LEAGUE: Battle for Metropolis – Six Flags St. Louis and Six Flags Over Texas
i wouldn’t say you can be the superhero in this ride, but you ‘assist’ the superheroes in combating the super villains as you ride along in this 3D interactive dark ride. the ride begins with a tour of a 3D Hall of Justice, after which you will be equipped with a stun gun to slug it out with the baddies – all in a setting of a dark Metropolis cityscape.

SkyScreamer – Six Flags Mexico, Mexico City, Mexico
this is one ride that i will never step in. SkyScreamer is essentially swinging chairs you known, ridden, and seen, but at a ridiculously insane height of 24 stories skyward. just thinking of it makes my knees weak.

Dive Bomber – Six Flags White Water, Atlanta, Georgia
in Dive Bomber, you are the ‘bomb’ that faces an incredible drop of over 100 feet on a slide that is nearly 90 degrees in inclination. er. what inclination? that’s more like a construction debris chute, except this one has water.
