We have not talked about Triumph Motorcycles for the longest time, and boy, the portfolio has sure grown since. The legendary British motorcycle maker got our attention recently because it has finally dabbled in electric drive. But before you go ga-ga over it, it is not for you; it is for kids. To be fair, the Triumph TXP Powered by OSET for Kids is not the first electric two-wheeler from Triumph.

Back in 2021, Triumph did explore the possibility of electric drive with the Project TE-1, but nothing came out of it. So, for the eco-conscious Triumph Motorcycles fans, you can only let the juniors enjoy the Triumph eco two-wheelers on your behalf for now.
The TXP series is Triumph’s first junior-focused electric off-road motorcycle, developed in collaboration with OSET, which Triumph acquired in 2022. If you don’t know OSET, it is the same outfit responsible for countless trials bikes for little daredevils worldwide. Now, thanks to this collaboration, the TXP series brings pint-sized off-road thrills with proper Triumph styling and engineering. Think of it as the Bonneville’s grandkid—only it hums quietly and comes in bright Performance Yellow and Graphite Black.
Two models are on offer: the TXP-12 for riders aged 3–5, and the TXP-16 for those 5–7 years old. The TXP-12 is the “trainer bike,” weighing just 22.7 kg (50 lbs), with a seat height of 360 mm (Trials mode) or 445 mm (XPlore mode), adjustable suspension, and a 600 W brushless motor pushing it up to around 22 km/h (~14 mph).

The bigger TXP-16, at 26.2 kg (~58 lbs), upgrades to a 765 W motor, hydraulic disc brakes, longer suspension travel (80 mm front/90 mm rear), and a higher seat—450 mm in Trials mode and 550 mm in XPlore mode. That means up to 30 km/h (~`9 mph) of “hang on, junior” fun (and maybe a dose of “weeee” now and then?).
Both bikes are built around lightweight steel frames, feature tool-free adjustments for parents, PIN-code protected speed control, magnetic safety lanyards, IP67 waterproof electronics, and Triumph’s clever 2-in-1 modular design. That last part means kids can ride sitting down motocross-style (XPlore mode) or standing trials-style (Trials mode). It’s basically two bikes in one, which almost justifies the price. Almost.
Prices start at US$1,695 for the TXP-12 and US$2,295 for the TXP-16. Sure, that’s not exactly “toy money,” but when you think about it, it’s cheaper than therapy for when your kid steals your full-size Bonneville.
