TurkCell becomes the first Turkey telco have its own-branded 4G smartphone and boy, does it look pretty sleek. the T50, as it is known, joints TurkCell’s T-series line of handset and it is also the first operator-branded smartphone to come standard with wearable accessories. the said accessory is the T-Fit wristband that works in conjunction with the T50 to offer users health and sleep-tracking functionalities. spec sheet details include a 5-inch HD display, Qualcomm 8926 SoC with 1.2GHz quad-core processor (no mention of RAM, though), 16GB internal storage, a 2,300 mAh battery, NFC, support for HD audio, noise reduction and Dolby Digital Plus and of course, LTE radios that promised up to 150 mbps. there is also a 13MP rear-facing camera and 2MP front shooter, along with camera features like FHD recording, integrated filter effects, advanced HDR and more.

the device will run on Android 4.4.2 KitKat and packs localized apps and services such as Kingsoft Office, Turkcell’s cloud service ‘Akillo Depo’, Turkcell TV, Turkcell Music, Turkcell Video, and Turkcell very own app store, T-Market. the TurkCell T50 4G Smartphone is set to hit the Turkish market in July 2014 for just $350, presumably off-contract and unlocked. we might be wrong. interestingly, apparently, LTE has yet to come to Turkey, but test are underway to determine which would be the best provider, but that hasn’t stop Turkcell from envisioning to become the leading operator in Turkey in LTE. according to official press, Turkcell has carried out a LTE test which achieved a blazing 135 mbps download speed. anyway, not that most of us would be able to get one, but it is always nice to know a new smartphone entrant and honestly, we thought the T50 looks pretty awesome.
