Is iPhone good for gaming? I don’t know. I never really do that. Anyhoo, if you do serious gaming on your iPhone, then you may want to check out the Turtle Beach Atom Mobile Game. If you think the Turtle Beach Atom Mobile Game looked kind of familiar, well that is because it is already in the market but for Android. Turtle Beach has recently unveiled the iPhone version.
Now, a controller of such nature isn’t new but unlike the GameSir X3 Peltier and Razer Kishi which have a one-piece design, the Turtle Beach Atom Mobile Game Controller is a unique two-piece design. It boasts two ergonomic grip modules that are designed to fit every Apple iPhone 14, 13, 12, and 11 models, while adjustable spring-loaded clamps allow the use of the controllers even with the case on.
The two controllers communicate with each other wirelessly via Turtle Beach’s proprietary 2.4 GHz wireless link while low-latency Bluetooth affords a lag-free wireless connection with the iPhone. If you are familiar with Xbox controllers, you will be right home with Atom. It shares similar buttons and layouts, including full-size thumbsticks, a d-pad, bumpers, triggers, and the iconic ABXY buttons, offering console-level controls.
Each controller module is powered by its own battery that provides up to 20 hours of operation on a single charge. The battery recharges in just 2.5 hours using the supplied USB-C cable.
But why two-piece? Firstly, an unobstructed will not impede the cooling of the phone during intense gaming. Secondly, the two-piece has an advantage when it comes to storage. When not in use, the two Atom modules magnetically combine into one compact device which fits into the included carrying case and slips into a pocket. OK. Maybe a fairly large pocket.
The Turtle Beach Atom Mobile Game Controller for iPhone will drop on September 11, 2023, in a beautiful Cobalt Blue colorway, for US$79.99.
If you are down, you may pre-order it at turtlebeach.com as well as participating retailers.
