Turtle That Outgrew Its Shell Looks Like Ninja Turtle

In today’s weirdest news, there is a turtle that has grown, but in a somewhat different way than its peers. No, it does not have two heads and/or tails, nor does it have more than four limbs. Speaking of mutation, it is not new to the animal kingdom, however, this turtle of the day here has become quite a sensation because, it has grown significantly over the ten years since the owner adopted it (as it should have), but for some reasons, the shell of this testudines remains stagnant. In other words, the turtle has outgrown its shell like a child has outgrown its t-shirt.

Instead of the usual shell to body proportion, it now appears to be carrying a backpack. So, yeah, in a way, this turtle could very well be the real life Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle. Weird. But according to veterinarian, this not a mutation. It is due to the lack of calcium. The lack of calcium and sometimes, even sunshine, will not result in under developed shell, but also a weaker shell which is meant to protect the animal. From the looks of it, this turtle can no longer recluse into a safe haven like regular turtles do. While it can be supplement with a calcium and vitamins diet, I think it may be too late for the shell to catch up. Perhaps, some animals aren’t meant to be domesticated.
