If you are in the market for a unique-looking portable Bluetooth speaker with 360° audio, then you may want to check out the new S1 Circle compact Bluetooth speaker from Singapore-based UB+. It is a spherical speaker and it is, of course, portable.
Thankfully, the UB+ S1 Circle will not roll around even though it is essentially a ball because it has a base. And it does come with a removable leather strap to tote it around, and for hanging it somewhere. Not going to lie. I was sold by the styling.
Audio reproduction on the UB+ S1 Circle is via four drivers, namely, two 28 mm silk dome tweeters and two 2.5-inch woofers. The latter is backed by two passive radiators to produce “implosive bass”. Not sure if that are the right words to describe powerful bass but you get the jive…
The 4 drivers are strategically placed in symmetrical positions to deliver immersive 360° audio that are “perfectly balanced”.
Other highlights include a bass reflex design, 2-channel audio, loud 92 dB max SPL, 2x 20 W max output, EQ control (via the companion app), built-in microphone for taking calls, Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity, a wide frequency range (45 Hz to 17 kHz), and three (yes, three!) x 2,500 mAh battery good for over 20 hours of runtime in between charges. The device is IPX5 rated for water resistance.
The speaker supports True Wireless Stereo, which means you can pair 2 UB+ speakers to form a stereo setup. In addition, it has a Matrix Mode that would allow up to 8 (!) S1 Circle to connect together and playback the same tunes in 8 different locations.
