when your life is backed by a huge fortune, there are a lot of things to look forward to beside chilling out on some 20 grand a day private beach resort. one such luxury would be owning a pair of ridiculously expensive and gorgeous headphones, like the Ultrasone Edition 10 Open-Back Headphones. as expensive as it might be, we can’t help but to ogle over its unique retro-licious look. aesthetically, it features ear cups and headband wrapped in dark brown sheepskin leather, metal matt ruthenium outer ear cups with inlays of decorous Zebrano wood. where the sheepskin did not cover on the headband, metal matt ruthenium takes the central stage. beneath its lavish design, the Edition 10 is equipped with 40mm titanium-plated driver, S-Logic Plus technology that offers natural and spacious sound, and ULE technology (MU Metal shielding) that reduces magnetic field exposure to user by up to 98%. admittedly, we are no audiophile but we appreciate the fact that the S-Logic Plus technology does not direct the sound directly into the user’s inner ears like traditional headphones, instead it reflects the sound off the outer ears in many directions, thus achieving a spacious, 3D listening effect. the latter also means, you could enjoy your music at low volume without having to pump up the volume. naturally, such exquisite creation ain’t going to be cheap. the Ultrasone Edition 10 Headphones cost a bank account-crunching $2,749 a pair. oh, did we mention that it comes with a matching headphone stand crafted from the same Zebrano wood.
