current slew of tablets are generally geared towards on-the-go web surfing, as well as media content playback (i wouldn’t even consider productivity as its core usage). although, tablets like iPad are not lacking of games, it is not purpose-built for gaming, so to speak. the current tablet is web- and media-first then gaming and in retrospect, there’s no tablet that is game-first, then web and media. so, there exist a void. coming sometime in 3rd Quarter this year, WikiPad will fill that void with its first glasses-free 3D Android tablet that will comes complete with an attachable video game controller, thus taking ‘larger screen’ mobile gaming to the next level. the WikiPad will be driven by 1.4GHz NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core mobile processor with video-game optimized capabilities. it’s 12-core GPU promised to let gamers experience console-quality gaming, along with HD video capabilities. specifics are still quite scant at this point but what we do know is it will sport a 1280 x 800 resolution IPS panel, has 1GB of DDR2 RAM, and will have a battery with 6 hours of usage, which presumably meant gaming usage.
