At a recent company event, dubbed the “We Miers” Values Conference, at Xiaomi on April 10, Xiaomi staff from across various departments presented keynotes and performances, such as dances. After all that was over, Xiaomi Cafeteria took over the stage with a surprise reveal: “Xiaomi” Ice Cream [CH]. You heard that right. The company has announced a new ice cream which has been available—or not—but more on that in a bit, at Xiaomi Cafeteria starting on the day of the event.

Xiaomi Cafeteria is a thing, btw. It even has an official Weibo channel. According to Xiaomi Cafeteria, the ice cream “was developed with an engineer’s mindset.” How exactly that works out, we have no idea. However, we do know that the “Xiaomi” Ice Cream, like its phones and EVs, is available in three versions: standard, Pro, and Max.
The standard version is basically a cone with a swirl of ice cream sprinkled with, I believe, crushed peanuts. The Pro is everything the standard version is, with a stick of “values” biscuit with one of the company’s values printed on it. Finally, the Max is the standard version but with not one, not two, but three sticks of “values” biscuits. It is not clear how many “values” it has.
Anyhoo, the standard ice cream sells for 5.99 yuan (88 cents), while the Pro and Max versions cost 6.99 yuan (~US$1.02) and 8.99 yuan (~US$1.32), respectively. It was a hit. The machine pumped out 2,000 ice creams in three days, until it broke on the 15th [CH]—as predicted by some fans. Apparently, the machine had been working so hard that the tubes at the back burst, and the cream was oozing out from the nozzle at the front. The machine had a clog, too. The device needed repair almost every day. It is not clear if it is still functioning.
