as much as we love the muscular lines of factory sport bikes like the Ducati Streetfighter, our hearts are still with custom two wheelers. in fact, customization is the thing that tickles our sense which is what the Yamaha SR400 Custom “Clock Work” did. custom by Japanese custom bike builder, Motor Rock, the first you will notice about this handsome example is its brush chrome finish and an overall aesthetic that’s very unlike its original form. its single cylinder engine now sports a 89mm piston and 92mm stroke crankshaft, matched to a high performance Keihin CR Carburetor and classic K&N air filter. other features include a set of 74 Springer/Processing front fork, one-off handlebars, Dakota digital meter, EASYRIDERS billet rear suspension, and one-off tail light. it rides on huge 16-inch wheel up front and XS650 wheel at the rear, both in matching chrome finishes.

oddly, there is slight touches of Japanese opal bling somewhere in the mid-section of the bike which we are not sure if goes well with the largely brush chrome bike. however, our favorite part of this bike is perhaps the custom one-piece seat and fuel tank. though Motor Rock did not mention about its wheelbase, we suspect it is much longer then the original SR400. unfortunately, the Yamaha SR400 Custom “Clock Work” is not up for sale as yet but even if it is, it would be available only in Japan which is sure to disappoint many two-wheeled lovers. then again, if you have a burgeoning bank account, i suppose you could touch base with Motor Rock and see what they can offer you. in the meantime, saddle up and gun past the jump for a gallery of the SR400 Custom “Clock Work”.
