Well, what do you know? Dyson is not the only company with a hairdryer that looks like a bent tube. Chinese trendy appliance maker Yoose also launched a so-called aerodynamic high-speed hairdryer with a similar bent tube design. However, Yoose’s design does not have a consistent diameter throughout and the bent is slightly less than 90-degree (about 10-degree less, according to Yoose). If anything, Yoose’s look more like a periscope than Dyson’s.

Now, the golden question is who copied who? The answer may seem obvious since Dyson announced it in February and Yoose presented its iteration in April. But here’s the thing: it is not. The Yoose Aerodynamic High-Speed Hairdryer [CH] you see here is actually the 2nd generation. So no, the design is not new.
According to Yoose and reports [CH] that were published after Dyson announced the Supersonic r, Yoose was the first to come up with this radical design. It dates back to 2021 with a model called No. 7. It was sold in small numbers. Not sure how true it is. But who cares? What’s important is that if you want a bent tube hairdryer and want it cheap, the Yoose Aerodynamic High-Speed Hairdryer is your answer.
Suppose you really put your thoughts into it, there is a possibility that the company has revived and updated the two-year-old product after noting Dyson’s Supersonic r is targeted at businesses. Yoose tube hairdryer, on the other hand, is for everyone. There is even a collab model with American artist Keith Haring.
The Keith Haring x Yoose Aerodynamic High-Speed Hairdryer [CH] features Haring’s iconic artwork and is presented in a special carrying bag for storage and toting the hairdryer around.

Beyond the almost Cybertruck-level of controversial design, the Yoose Aerodynamic High-Speed Hairdryer boasts some serious hairdryer tech. We are not sure if the team actually engaged an aero specialist team for this but it does have a powerful motor—an upgraded 110,000 RPM high-speed brushless motor with 13 aerospace-grade aluminum alloy fan blades that allow it to unleash a wind speed of up to 22 m/s. It has a lower speed, at around 15.5 m/s, if you want to take things down a notch.
The hairdryer has got 4 temperatures: cold, warm, hot, and very strangely, a cold/hot mode. Hmmm. The device also touts quietness, boasting 6 noise reduction measures, including alloy mesh, aerodynamic bend design et cetera. Though it is not exactly clear how quiet it is. It has a rated power of 1,500 W and the colorful body is crafted out of high heat-resistant polycarbonate.
The Yoose Aerodynamic High-Speed Hairdryer is available in China for just 399 yuan which is around 55 USD. The Keith Haring Edition costs a lot more at 799 yuan or about 111 USD.
