Drop 4 of Daniel Arsham x Hot Wheels Collection just happened and it’s awesome. There are just three items in this drop but they are more than enough. This fourth collaboration offers an insight into a distant tomorrow.. nah, who am I kidding? I care not about the backstory. All you need to know is Daniel has again given a couple of Hot Wheels die-cast the eroded treatment.
The first of the two die-cast, dubbed Hot Wheels x Daniel Arsham Eroded Porsche Safari, is the Eroded Safari inspired by Arsham’s 1986 Porsche modified for off-roading. Obviously, Daniel’s real-life ride ain’t eroded. Plus, the Hot Wheels version honors the artist’s 2022 edition. As before, Daniel’s miniature ride is presented in the super cool Arsham Grey.
The Hot Wheels x Daniel Arsham Eroded Porsche Safari features the signature crystallized erosions, a silkstone body type on the usual ZAMAC chassis, and rolls on Real Riders 5-hole wheels.
The second die-cast is equally exciting. The Hot Wheels x Daniel Arsham Eroded Ford Mustang, as it is called, is a 1:64 Silkstone replica of Arsham’s 1:1 eroded sculpture of the iconic 1968 Ford Mustang from the movie Bullitt.
Dubbed Hot Wheels x Daniel Arsham Eroded Ford Mustang, this 1:64 version of the resin sculpture features an Arsham black Silksone body color with crystallized erosions. It is built on the ZAMAC chassis and rolls on Real Riders 5-spoke mag wheels.
Both the Hot Wheels x Daniel Arsham Eroded Porsche Safari and the Hot Wheels x Daniel Arsham Eroded Ford Mustang are available now for US$70 each.
Finally, there is a poster inspired by a vintage Otto Kuhni illustration featuring both the Ford and Porsche. The poster, called Hot Wheels x Daniel Arsham Legends Archive Lap 4 Poster, is not your average poster; it features spot varnish on crystallized details that evoke a signature element of Arsham’s sculptures.
The poster measures 24” H x 36” W (60.96 x 91.44 cm) and is printed on 95-pound paper stock. Each poster comes with a Certificate of Authenticity and comes packed in a sturdy tube for shipping.
