Soundbar greatly improves the sound of almost any flat screen TV, but great sound also comes with a great dilemma. Mostly it involves the difficult decision of annoying your immediate neighbors with booming sounds or straining your ears to hear the dialogs. But you probably won’t have this problem with the ZVOX AV355 Soundbar.
Like ZVOX AV357, the AV355 is an AccuVoice dialogue-enhancing TV speaker that does two very important things: lifts voices out from the rest of the soundtrack and tame loud commercials instantly.
It offers six levels of the company’s patented hearing aid technology, plus six levels of its new SuperVoice technology, which “softens” background sounds to prevent them from interfering with voice intelligibility. And it does all those without any significant volume or tonal change to other parts of the soundtrack.
Packed inside the 24” wide by 2.2” tall by 3.5” deep (60.96 x 5.59 x 8.89 cm) molded cabinet with steel grille are three high-performance drivers with neodymium magnets, plus a “virtual subwoofer” technology for extra bass.
While it does not have DTS or Dolby surround, it does have its own in-house virtual surround technology, known as PhaseCue, that promised to deliver room-filling 3D sound.
