make no mistake, the RC designation of the alluring Lexus RC Coupe is not radio control; it is the next generation 2+2 luxury coupe from the Japanese automaker that is set to meet the world later this at the 43rd Tokyo Motor Show 2013. as with the ongoing Lexus culture, it will be offered in two models: a RC 350 powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine and a RC 300h, which is a hybrid model fitted with a 2.5-liter gasoline engine. also in the order is the now-iconic spindle grille, flanked by a pair of triangular headlamps, and an athletic form with deeply contoured lines. according to Lexus, the RC was designed “to raise the brand’s profile with a broader audience and new-to-Lexus customers.” so if you haven’t been taking notice of the awesome rides coming from the Japanese luxury marque (where have you been???), it is perhaps a good time to start.

at this point, detail specifications remain scant, but we duly noted a handful design features such as deeply sculpted 10-spoked wheels (to be available in either 18- or 19-inch), a new Lexus painting process involving multiple layers of clear and deeper-colored coating, upward reflecting interior accent lightings, high contrast interior trimming, racing-construct seats, genuine shimamoku wood elements, and dual display setup that comprises of the instrument panel and a seven-inch navigation screen and Remote Touch Interface at the center console. we can’t help but to notice the rear end of the RC Coupe bears some resemblance to Toyota’s past glorious sports cars, the Toyota Celica GT4 ST205 and the Toyota Supra Mark IV, albeit in a more modern, “sharper” styling.
