Speaking of a Tourer and VW, the German automaker has just the right for just premiere a large, electric estate car, the ID.7 Tourer, that would satisfy the need for space while being gentle on the environment. Now, an electric estate is not common and that’s why it deserves our attention.

This estate car, a first in the upper mid-sized class for all-electric vehicles, complements the new Passat Variant, offering a choice across all drive types including petrol, diesel, plug-in hybrids, and electric.

The Volkswagen ID.7 Tourer boasts up to 685 km (426 miles) of WLTP range, making it ideal for business and long-distance travel, with a spacious interior and high-quality cockpit.

It boasts a copious amount of interior space. We are talking about a luggage capacity of up to 605 liters (150 gal or 21 cubic feet) with the rear seat backrest in cargo position, or up to an astounding 1,714 liters (453 gal or 61 cubic feet) when loaded up to the backrests of the front seats, and up to the roof.

The battery is designed for a maximum charging capacity of up to 200 kW at DC quick-charging stations which allows it to be topped from 10 to 80 percent in “significantly” under 30 minutes.

The EV further features innovative technology like an AR head-up display, ergonomic seats with massage functions, and a new Wellness In-Car app for enhanced comfort.

Set to be produced in Emden, Germany, alongside the ID.7 saloon and ID.4 SUV, presales start in the first quarter of this year. No words if it will ever head to North America, though.
