Volkswagen All-Electric ID. Buggy, Passat Variant R-Line And More

Well, this is it. The 89th Geneva International Motor Show is here and Volkswagen has a lot to share with the world at this premiere auto show. Focusing on electric mobility and performance (like duh?), the German automaker is premiering four vehicles: ID. Buggy Concept, the 8th generation Passat, T-Roc R, and Touareg V8 TDI. But really, the star of the show is no doubt the matte Fern Green ID. Buggy that we somehow have a feeling it won’t happen. Continue reading Volkswagen All-Electric ID. VW Has A 400 HP Hybrid Golf GTI With An Electric Drive That Will Surprise You

Look what we have here! It’s a VW Golf GTI with a dose of electric power and when we said “a dose,” we do really mean ‘a dose’. How? This particular Golf here, dubbed Golf GTI First Decade, has 410 PS, or about 404 HP, but that impressive number is solely from its petrol engine. You must be thinking, “oh wow, then it must have a lot more ponies under the hood when combine with the electric drive?” Ermmm, no. The thing is, the 48V electric motor, which drives the rear wheels, only produces a very modest 12 kW (16 HP). As you can imagine, that’s really nothing to shout about. Citroën’s Futuristic Concept Revealed Ahead Of Paris Motor Show

We have a love and hate relationship with concept cars. Love because they are usually exciting and hate because the mostly radical looking concept usually don’t make it to production. It always begs the question: why can’t they make what they have shown? I guess we will never know, but we surely hope that the Citroën CXperience Concept Hybrid Station Wagon cos’ at least, while being bold, it does look like it could be reality. How do we know? Lets just say it was a gut feel. The concept is due for its world premier at the Paris Motor Show, but the French automaker is probably too excited to keep it under wrap for that long and so, it has decided to show it off Continue reading Citroën’s Futuristic Concept Revealed Ahead Of Paris Motor Show

Volvo Adds Sporty Touches To S90 And V90 With R-Design Models

Volvo is not exactly synonymous with performance rides. Safety, for sure, but certainly, not in the performance department. Though they are by no means slouch in that aspect. However, the Swede automaker sure knows a thing or two about sporty looks, which is what its R-Design models are about. Today, another two rides join the R-Design lineup and they are none other than the S90 sedan and V90 estate aka station wagon. 2016 MINI Clubman Now Comes In All-Wheel Drive

By now, we should have conditioned ourselves to understand that MINI is a marque and not a direct reference to the brand’s car sizes. It wasn’t small like it was when it was reintroduced into the market by BMW. In fact, it has grew quite a bit since its rebirth and since then, it has spun a few even bigger machines, such as the Clubman. Speaking of Clubman, MINI has announced a new Clubman that’s not only longer (in terms of wheelbase), but also drives on all four wheel. That’s right. Clubman. All-wheel drive, or ALL4, as the marketing folks at MINI much prefer we refer it as. Some MINI fans may find it long overdue, but hey, it is better late than never, isn’t it? Continue reading 2016 MINI Clubman Now Comes In All-Wheel Drive

This is it. This is the New MINI Clubman and it is the Biggest MINI Yet

We love MINI, but its size left much to be desired. Sure. There is the Countryman to content with, but honestly speaking, while Countryman has the face of the MINI, it never really look like a MINI; it looks more like a mini monster truck. This is where we think the new MINI Clubman will fill the gap left by the lack of size by the MINI and the un-MINI MINI of the Countryman. The new Clubman is significantly larger. It is a good 10.6 inches (26 cm) longer, 3.5 inches (9 cm) wider and its wheelbase stretches 3.9 inches longer over the new MINI 5-door. Continue reading This is it. Subaru’s Second Hybrid is an Impreza Sport, Goes On Sale in Japan in July

The myth of boxer engine is a serious gas guzzler remains today, which is of course, not 100 percent true as horizontally-opposed engine has improved significantly since Subby’s early Impreza days. However, if you are still bothered by that, I am sure a hybrid paired to a boxer might help to ease fuel tension. Speaking of which, Subaru is rolling out its second “fun-to-drive” hybrid, an Impreza Sport Hybrid, two years after the first Subaru XV Hybrid was introduced. It features motor assist function for smoother, linear acceleration, coupled with Impreza’s trademark sharp, sport handling. It sure sounds like best of both world, except that this is no electrified Rex. We are obliged to think it is a family kind of thing and the station wagon body further reinforce the notion. Mercedes-Benz CLA Shooting Brake Unveiled, Includes a 360HP AMG Variant

Mercedes-Benz has finally pull the wraps off the new CLA Shooting Brake. Despite the new found station wagon body, its four-door coupe form is still very much alive, which means fans who adore the sporty lines of the CLA won’t be disappointed here. Being of a five-door configuration, it also means the CLA Shooting Brake gets a significantly roomier interior, starting with a 94.7cm headroom at the rear – a bump of 4cm from its four-door coupe variant. In addition to that, ease of ingress and egress has also improved, while the cargo area now offers a capacity that ranges from 495 to 1354 liters. The rear seats can also be adjusted to a more “steeply raked ‘cargo’ position to increase the cargo capacity to 595 liters, while still offering seating space for five. lets just skip pass the market mambo jambo that comes standard with any automobile press release. Peugeot has a couple of new performance 308s, which the French automaker labeled as GT. the first is a regular hatch and the other being a station wagon. yes. a station wagon GT. sounds like fun to us. fresh from their commercial success reported as at end of August, the 308 GT duo will be offered with two engines. the first is a four-pod 1.6-liter THP 205 petrol unit, featuring a twin-scroll turbocharger, direct fuel injection, variable valve lift on inlet, variable valve timing on both inlet and exhaust, and Stop&Start for a touch of eco-friendliness. there is also diesel unit, a 2.0-liter inline four BlueHDi 180, that touts Peugeot’s third generation common rail fuel system, a new combustion chamber, and a higher compression ratio of 16:7:1. This Dude Turned A Volvo 240 Wagon Into A Delightful Amphibious Vehicle

amphibious vehicle is almost always associated with rugged, off-road vehicles and never had or will ever have a romantic relationship with road cars, much less a Volvo 240 Wagon, well, that’s until now. a New Yorker by the name of Theon Parseghian, who apparently has this undying love for tinkering with cars in a brutal and fun manner (such as this one here), decided that he should made an amphibious vehicle and the ride of choice is the aforementioned, sweet Volvo 240 Wagon. according to Jalopnik, Theon had a ’85 Brat engine bolted to where the rear seats used to and hooked it up to a propeller for pushing the vehicle through the water. obviously, there were a lot more done to the vehicle to make it water-worthy, which we don’t have a whole lot details.
