Jeremy Scott may have popularized wings on kicks, but Belarus-based artist Orange Cat Minsk AKA Volha Kotova, known for her felt products on Etsy, may very well popularize bags with wings. In her series of winged backpacks, felts were cut and trim, and put together, layered appropriately, to form wings that look exceeding like those on our avian friends, or perhaps, even angels. The realistic wings are integrated seamlessly to backpack which is, naturally, also made of felted sheep’s wool. The combination of tiered construction and color inconsistency attributed by to the color gradation which mimics those of the real birds, serves to add to the realism.

When worn on the back, it kind of transform the wearer into an angel, or if you don’t believe in angels, it would be just a half man, half bird creature, or Warren Worthington III AKA Archangel. Beyond its angelic appearance, Winged Backpack is totally functional, complete with adjustable straps and a main zipper pocket with four individual internal pockets. Though you probably won’t want to overload it with voluminous stuff cos’ may just make you look like a hunchback angel. Also, you CAN’T flutter away like a bird with this on your back, so don’t ever try anything that will land you on the “stupid things that people do” top 100 chart.

At the time of this writing, Winged Backpacks are temporarily unavailable due to overwhelming response. Not surprisingly, as Volha’s creation has gone viral since a week ago. But according to Minsk’s store on Etsy, the backpacks will be back up for order after October 10, 2016 and when it does, you want to have $240 ready in exchange for it.
