1993 Toyota Supra Twin Turbo Sport Roof

If the fifth-generation Toyota Supra makes you want to own the fourth-generation Toyota Supra, the A80 from the 90s, even more, well then we have good news. A well-maintained 1993 Toyota Supra Twin Turbo Sport Roof (aka Targa top) is going on the block in the upcoming Fort Lauderdale sale by RM Sotheby’s on March 25-26, 2022.

The 1993 Toyota Supra Twin Turbo Sport Roof (designated Lot 1101) is powered by the legendary 2JZ-GTE motor, which is a 3.0L twin-turbo inline six-cylinder engine that produces 321 horsepower.

That said, JDM enthusiasts may have noted that this is not quite a JDM; it was an official import for the North American markets and hence the 300+ HP. For those who don’t know, the JZA80 Supra’s lifecycle was within the horsepower restriction that limits Japan domestic cars to 276 HP.

The car is said to be “well-maintained”, has low mileage with less than 19,000 miles (30,578 km) on the odometer. The legendary motor is paired to a six-speed manual transmission, which is a rarity in this day and age. The car is said to be unmodified – which is also a rarity today.

Other highlights include a factory color scheme of Renaissance Red over Ivory leather, factory removable Targa-style roof panel, factory rear spoiler, factory 17-inch five-spoke alloy wheels, and the car’s timing belt and water pump replaced as recent as 2017 by Toyota of Naperville in Illinois.

The 1993 Toyota Supra Twin Turbo Sport Roof is expected to fetch between US$115,000 and US$145,000. It will go under the hammer alongside other delightful rides like a 1995 Dodge Viper RT/10 Roadster (Lot 2135), a 2008 Honda S2000 CR (Lot 2086), and another automobile legend, the 1989 Lancia Delta HF Integrale 16V (Lot 1051).
