being a man accustomed to getting only the best, we supposed the news of the 2015 Nissan GT-R NISMO must be music to your ears? no? this race-inspired example, which was unveiled at the on-going 2013 Lost Angeles Auto Show, is reeking with 600 ponies and 652 Nm (481 lb-ft) of torque from its 3.8-liter V6 VR38DETT engine and is the fourth model in the GT-R supercar lineup, after the Premium, Black Edition and Track Edition. features expected include, not surprisingly since coming from NISMO, extensive engine, suspension, exterior and interior enhancements. but what do all those mean to motoring enthusiasts, you asked? well, for one, this beast made a 7:08.679 lap at German’s legendary Nürburgring on September 30th, making the fastest volume production car in the world and that is one hell of a beast.
unique to this machine includes GT3 race-used high-flow, larger diameter turbochargers, upgraded fuel pump, race tuned suspension setup with three selectable suspension modes (comfort, normal and R), Dunlop-developed exclusive NISMO tires wrapping its GT500-inspired 20-inch 6-spoke rolling stocks, reinforced wheel-hub attachment area with large high-rigidity bolts, a massive 17.3mm hollow rear anti-roll bar for cut body-roll, increased rigidity in the body, and a special NISMO aero package that not only looks intimidating but functional. on the inside, it has ergonomically sculpted carbon fiber-backed reclining RECARO seats, Alcantara-wrapped 3-spoke steering wheel, combi meter in carbon-like finish, plus red stitching that further extrudes the racing inspired cockpit can be found on the seats, center console, steering wheel, as well as door trim.
the 2015 Nissan GT-R NISMO is expected to go on sale later part of 2014, following the on-sale date of the other 2015 GT-R models. price is unknown at this point, however. most of us won’t have the opportunity to drive one, much less own one and because of that, we have a video to show it lapping the ring. you know, at least we know we have seen it all. well, almost.
UPDATE [March 02, 2014; 07:00PM PST] Nissan USA has announced the pricing for the limited production 2015 Nissan GT-R NISMO, which will begin sale at select Nissan dealers in the U.S. beginning July 31, 2014 with a starting price tag of $149,990.
