Are you still feeling sore about missing out on the opportunity to purchase the 2022 Aston Martin V12 Vantage? Well, be prepared to get even sorer because a drop-top version was sold out ahead of release. So, yes, I am afraid the 2022 Aston Martin V12 Vantage Roadster’s limited 249 units worldwide just isn’t enough to go around.
The new Aston Martin V12 Vantage Roadster stood out with its dramatic widebody design and it is the first Vantage Roadster to feature the 5.2L V12 twin-turbo powertrain that produces a dynamic 700 PS (690 horses) and 753 Nm (555 lb-ft) of torque at 5,000 RPM.
The powerful motor is mated to a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission, paired with a rear-mounted mechanical Limited-Slip Differential (LDS) that blessed the vehicle with “the purity and balance of a front-mid-engined rear-wheel drive layout,” and a 0-60 (0-97 kph) sprint in just 3.5 seconds before sending it on its way to a top speed of 200 mph (322 kph).
Along with a dramatic widebody design, is a wide-track suspension – which is 40 mm (1.57 inches) wider than the Vantage, btw – that offers pinpoint handling, an aerodynamic package that generates up to 216 kg (476 pounds) of downforce.
With the 2022 Aston Martin V12 Vantage Roadster, you’d be experiencing what the 2022 Aston Martin V12 Vantage has to offer but with the freedom and sensory stimulation of roof-down driving.
A few other notables include bespoke tuned adaptive dampers, Carbon Ceramic Brakes, a lightweight battery, a center-mounted stainless steel twin tailpipes (which weigh a whopping 7.2 kg or 15.9 lbs less than the V12 Vantage’s), gorgeous 21-inch alloy wheels in a choice of satin black or satin black diamond turned, Michelin Pilot 4S tires, Sport Plus Seats in full semi-aniline leather with ‘Wings’ quilt and perforation pattern, and general use of carbon fiber and composite material.
Production of the Aston Martin V12 Vantage Roadster will begin in Q3 2022 with first deliveries scheduled to start in Q4 2022.
Meanwhile, the car will make its world premiere at the Monterey Car Week (starting August 21, 2022).
