2022 Ferrari 296 GTB Hybrid Supercar

There is no replacement for the exhilaration a powerful internal combustion engine brings, but you can do so while being a littler kinder to the environment with the new 2022 Ferrari 296 GTB.

Billed as an evolution of Ferrari’s mid-rear-engined two-seater Berlinetta concept, the Ferrari 296 GTB also introduces a new 120o V6 engine paired to a plug-in (PHEV) electric motor – juiced by a 7.45 kWh battery system. All told, this new plug-in hybrid supercar produces up to 818 horsepower and turns out a cool 740 Nm (546 lb-ft) of torque.

This configuration, which is mated to an 8-speed F1 DCT, allows the Ferrari 296 GTB to rocket from naught to 100 (0-62 mph) in mere 2.9 seconds and it will take just 7.3 seconds to reach 200 km/h (124 mph) before topping out at over 330 km/h (205 mph).

The speed and quickness this exotic car offers are nothing questionable. When Ferrari said that the Ferrari 296 GTB’s plug-in hybrid system “maximizes usability and driving pleasure,” they weren’t just saying. Granted fuel consumption and emission data aren’t available at this time.

In case anyone’s wondering, yes, the new 2022 Ferrari 296 GTB can travel on pure electric drive. When fully charged, the battery system affords it up to 25 km (16 miles) range at up to a top speed of 135 km/h (84 mph). I guess it really is best of both worlds. No?

As for the design, it is a supercar through and through, both inside and out. With the new 296 GTB, the Prancing Horse marque is also offering the Assetto Fiorano package that further lightens the vehicle and modifies the aero to maximize the power and performance the car has to offer.
