2023 Nissan Z Coupe

Never mind if you failed to get your hands on the Matchbox 1/64 Nissan Z Proto because you can soon buy a driveable version. Man, it felt like it was just yesterday when Nissan previewed the next-gen Z car but yesterday, Nissan USA officially announced that it will be available at Nissan dealerships nationwide in Summer 2022.

Unlike the diecast collectible, the 2023 Nissan Z Coupe won’t sell out. At least it won’t for the Z Sport and Z Performance. However, we can’t say the same for the special Proto Spec model which has just 240 units in the U.S.

For the benefit of those who don’t already know, the new Nissan Z has dropped the number in the naming. It will be just known as Z from here on and out.

Also for the uninitiated, the new 2023 Nissan Z Coupe is powered by a 3.0L V6 twin-turbo motor, producing an impressive 400 horsepower and 350 lb-ft (475 Nm) of peak torque available from 1,600 through to 5,200 RPM. That’s a bump of 68 ponies and a 30 percent increase in torque, btw.

To address turbo lag typical of turbochargers, the new Z uses small-diameter turbochargers, along with turbo speed sensors to squeeze the most out of the pair of force induction fans.

The power plant is paired to a choice of a 6-speed gearbox with EXEDY high-performance clutch or the new 9-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters.

In addition, an advanced launch assists control system is available to MT models. MT models further boost get a carbon-fiber composite drive shaft, with SynchoRev Match added to the 6 MT Performance models.

Meanwhile, the launch control system comes as standard across all AT models. The 2023 Nissan Z Coupe will be available at Nissan dealers in the Summer for US$39,990 and US$49,990 for the Z Sport and Z Performance, respectively. Meanwhile, you may learn more HERE.
