All-new 7th-generation 2023 Nissan Z Coupe

This is it. The new Nissan Z car, the Z Proto, which Nissan previewed last year is now official. While the previous six generations’ lines have the unmistakable lines of a Z car, the all-new 7th-generation 2023 Nissan Z Coupe does the original more justice.

Featuring a silhouette that is a homage to the original model, the 1970 Datsun 240Z, the new 2023 Nissan Z sports the familiar long hood, a low rear stance that is accentuated by the iconic fastback design. Though, the new Z is still obviously very much chunkier (which I wish it is not).

Speaking of Z… from here on and out, the numeric designations known in the previous generations are no longer applicable; it is now simply known as Z, or at least it is the case in the U.S.

Under the hood, the new Z car is powered by a 3.0L V6 twin-turbo engine that puts out 400 horses and 350 lb-ft of torque and is mated to a choice of 6-speed close-ratio manual gearbox with motorsports-inspired EXEDY high-performance clutch, or a new 9-speed AT with aluminum paddle shifters.

On the inside, it has a driver-centric cockpit with a 12.3-inch customizable racing-inspired meter display and is available with leather-appointed sports seats and 8-speaker Bose audio system.

The 2023 Z will be offered in Sport and Performance grade levels and a special “Proto Spec” edition that is limited to 240 units. No prize for guessing why the number “240”.

The 2023 Nissan Z is set to go on sale in the U.S. in spring 2022 as a 2023 model. Price is yet to be announced. In the meantime, you may learn more about the exciting new Nissan Z car HERE.
