Riding on the success of the Ariya’s pole-to-pole expedition, Nissan has launched a NISMO edition of its all-electric off-road capable SUV. The Nissan Ariya NISMO was unveiled in Japan at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2024 last month (January 12 to 14, 2024) and it is set to hit Japan this Spring.
This crossover SUV stands as NISMO’s premier EV, blending stylish looks with futuristic touches. It’s built for those who crave the thrill of powerful acceleration, the comfort of a spacious cabin, and the serene silence unique to electric vehicles.
There are two models of the Ariya NISMO, namely, NISMO B6 e-4ORCE and NIMSO B9 e-4ORCE. The latter’s electric drive puts out 320 kW (429 HP) and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft) of torque and is paired with a 91 kWh battery, while the former is powered by a 270 kW (363 HP)/560 Nm (413 lb-ft) electric drive and outfitted with a 66 kWh battery.
Crafted on the foundation of the Ariya e-4ORCE, the Ariya NISMO elevates the driving experience with its dynamic EV NISMO design. It promises not just rapid acceleration but also superior handling and aerodynamics, courtesy of NISMO’s specialized tuning.
This model brings to the table about 10% more peak output from its motor, along with a unique acceleration tune and a NISMO driving mode designed for peak responsiveness. The sound it makes is reminiscent of Formula E racing, adding an extra layer of excitement to the drive.
Stability and precision in handling are enhanced by NISMO’s meticulous tuning of the chassis, the e-4ORCE’s four-wheel-control technology, and specific tires on 20-inch aluminum wheels, ensuring a gripping performance even at high speeds.
The Ariya NISMO’s exterior is a marriage of premium quality and NISMO’s sporty essence, improved aerodynamics from racing-derived tech reducing drag and increasing downforce for better efficiency at high speeds. Inside, the cabin boasts a luxurious feel with NISMO-specific seats and trim, making every journey a first-class experience.
The price for the new 2024 Nissan Ariya NISMO has not been revealed.
