Everyone who needs to use a protractor knows the pain of carrying one. It just doesn’t fit in a regular stationery organizer or pencil case. That said, a regular pencil case isn’t exactly friendly to long rulers either. This is where the 25-degree Ruler Fold-X by Orangered Life comes in.
The 25-degree Ruler Fold-X is a clever reimagining of a ruler that also sneaks in angle measurement while it’s at it. Like the brand’s last ruler, it has an ergonomic 25° tilt, letting you see the markings without having to hunch over like Gargamel looming over the poor Smurfs. It also promotes easy lifting and offers a safe place to hold when using it as a cutting guide for your pen knife.
As the name suggests, it folds—giving you, depending on the model, up to 50 cm or 20 inches of ruler at half the length. In this version, Orangered Life has also cleverly integrated a protractor, so you can measure angles too. Other highlights include laser-engraved markings (yes, every tick is labeled), large fonts so you don’t need to smash your face against it to read, and aerospace-grade aluminum construction.
The new 25-degree Ruler Fold-X is available in both metric and imperial versions, and in three lengths. As before, Orangered Life has taken its latest brainchild to Kickstarter, where you can secure a unit at a discounted price starting at just 59 quid (or around 80 bucks, per Kickstarter). The campaign has already met its funding goal, so now it’s just a matter of letting the clock run out and Orangered Life fulfilling its end of the deal.
