3M PELTOR WS ALERT XPV Solar Powered Headset

Here’s something from 3M that anyone working in noisy environments would appreciate. What you see here is not just any protective communications headset. It is a self-charging protective communications headset called 3M PELTOR WS ALERT XPV Solar Powered Headset.

Utilizing patented solar cell technology called Powerfoyle, the headset self-charges from both outdoor and indoor light. This collaboration with Exeger eliminates the need for single-use batteries, blending sustainability with practicality.

Powerfoyle technology recharges the built-in lithium-ion battery continuously which eliminates the need for single-use batteries, as well as eliminating charging anxiety.

Peter Berghamn, business director of 3M PELTOR, described this technology as a “real game-changer” and I think it really is a game-changer (but maybe not in the eyes of single-use battery manufacturers).

The headset features noise-canceling, Bluetooth connectivity, and a Push-to-Listen option for ambient awareness. It’s partially made from recycled materials, supports firmware updates, and pairs with a monitoring app. The headset further touts many advanced features that allow workers to stay safe, connected, and productive.

Other notables include a multifunction button configurable in the app, WAP (Work Audio Profiles), Bluetooth Multipoint function, and Qualcomm aptX HD featuring adaptive audio that supports robust, high-resolution Bluetooth wireless audio.

The 3M PELTOR WS ALERT XPV Solar Powered Headset will be available to buy in March 2024. Meanwhile, 3M is taking the headset to the CES 2024.
