McLaren cars are no stranger to having the lifesize LEGO treatment. There is another but this time, it is very different. Not only Lifesize McLaren Formula 1 car is something new but unlike the McLaren Senna and McLaren 720S, this latest sculpture—which is based on the first-ever Technic Formula 1 model, the McLaren Formula 1 race car—is deconstructed.
In other words, this Lifesize McLaren LEGO Technic which is on display at the Canadian GP is in its exploded state, allowing visitors to view every detail inside and out. I am absolutely sold. I am a major sucker for exploded views of mechanical stuff and this one had me at hello. I used to spend hours at my school library digging through Popular Science and Popular Mechanics magazines, ogling at the cutaway and exploded graphics of all things mechanical.
This sculpture, being lifesize, offers so many delightful details that is a complete wet dream for me. I sure wish I could be there to see it. It is an absolute darling to me!
