Sony is not the only brand to rekindle the magic of boomboxes in a very loud way. TRIBIT has been doing so for a while now and with a very cyberpunkish vibe. So, my fellow party animals, meet the new TRIBIT StormBox Blast 2 Portable Bluetooth Speaker. It is here to shake things up—literally.
With a 200 W (!) output, this Bluetooth speaker isn’t about subtle background music. It’s more about making sure your neighbors know exactly what playlist you’re rocking. It boasts a 2.1 channel design featuring an 80 W subwoofer, dual 45 W mid-range drivers, and two 15 W silk dome tweeters. The output is further bolstered by two advanced Ti amplifiers. Meanwhile, dual passive radiators provide you with a bass so deep you might find your lost car keys.
But wait, there’s karaoke. That’s right. You can plug in two microphones—wired or wireless—and with a built-in reverb effect, you’ll sound like a pop star, even if you’re more “Shower Singer” than “Shakira.” Bluetooth 5.4 keeps the connection smooth, so your duet doesn’t drop out right in the middle of a high note. There’s also an auxiliary port, allowing non-Bluetooth devices to output their sound through this incredible, wall-shattering boombox.
Feeling fancy? The StormBox Blast 2 lets you sync lights to your music or just choose your favorite color in the TRIBIT app. So whether you’re throwing a rave or just want your living room to look like a nightclub, it’s got you covered. The lights work in sync to lend the speaker a unique futuristic aesthetic. Oh, did we mention that it is IP67-rated so, water will never be its greatest enemy. Well, at least not if it’s light rain or just splashes of it.
And if your phone battery’s running low, no worries—cos’ speaker’s colossal battery can double as a power bank. I know. It’s one enormous power bank. But rest assured, this big guy is sound first, juice second. It can also be powered by a power outlet, and it has a USB-C port (5V-2A) for charging the built-in battery. There’s a USB-A port that serves up 5V-2A for whatever devices need to be charged. While we are on the topic of battery, it is said to last for 30 hours (!), which is more than enough time to keep the party going until someone decides it’s time to go home.
