I am sure you guys remember ZeroHour. The California-based startup is back with a new tactical flashlight and backup battery combo and it is called ZeroHour Relic XR Tactical USB Battery Backup Flashlight. Unlike the original, this new model is a whole lot more compact, measuring in at 6 inches (152mm) long and weighs just 6 ounces (170g), which means it is more portable and it is size to fit standard 1” bike mount, and even on weapon mounts. Make sense, it is, after all, a tactical flashlight with the added bonus of charging your mobile devices. Crafted from aircraft-grade aluminum, hard-anodized with deep grooves for improved grip, the ZeroHour Relic XR is IPX-8 rated for waterproofing to one meter (3 feet). The Relic XR touts 1,000 lumen of brightness output by a Cree XLamp XP-L LED and packs a 3,400 mAh lithium-ion battery.
With the Relic XR, it also touts an all-new variable control ring that lets you adjust the brightness from 0 to 1,000 lumens, in addition to the usual preset modes of 10 lumens, 1,000 lumens, strobe and SOS functionalities. Charging of your mobile device is via a 1A port, while a microUSB facilitates recharging of the flashlight – both concealed under a waterproof center ring which you untwist to access. Other mentions including LED battery indicator, tail-cap switch with momentary-on click setting, multiple battery configurations (18650 or CR123), anti-roll clip, removable stainless steel head (aka glass breaker) and tail bezel, and tail-cap holes for paracord attachment.
As before, ZeroHour has taken the Relic XR Tactical USB Battery Backup Flashlight to crowdfunding platform, Kickstarter, where you will be able to pre-order for as low as $120.
