New Razer Sanrio Collection
Pompompurin’s floppy ears and brown beret belong on his head. Razer thinks they belong on yours, too. Its latest Sanrio additions turn a wireless headset into something instantly recognizable, while Kuromi’s skull emblem makes it onto the tiny earbud stems. Nobody needs to inspect the packaging to identify this collaboration.

Unlike Sony, when it comes to collaborations with popular IPs, Razer goes above and beyond to make sure the products will be recognized. The gaming lifestyle company previously released a collection of Hello Kitty and Friends gaming accessories featuring actual images of the characters on the products. Now, it has done it again, even for gadgets as tiny as true wireless earbuds. Folks, meet the new Pompompurin-eared headset and Kuromi earbuds from Razer.

Razer x Pompompurin Collection

And when I say Pompompurin headset, I do not mean a yellow headset accompanied by a Pompompurin bag. The golden retriever’s floppy ears and trademark brown beret are sitting right there on the headband. You are essentially wearing his head on yours. Adorable.

Pompompurin Has the Headset Covered

Razer Kraken Kitty V2 BT – Pompompurin Edition

Officially called the Razer Kraken Kitty V2 BT – Pompompurin Edition, the headset adopts the character’s butter-yellow color scheme, with sculpted ears and that unmistakable little hat. It is quite a departure from Razer’s usual black-and-green hardware, and I am sure fans of Hello Kitty and Friends will appreciate it.

Underneath the character treatment are Razer TriForce 40 mm drivers, Bluetooth 5.2, and a Gaming Mode for lower-latency audio. Built-in beamforming noise-cancelling microphones handle voice chat without a boom mic sticking out in front of your face. Battery life is rated at up to 40 hours.

The headset launched on October 2 and, as of October 11, is available to order from Razer’s U.S. store for US$139.99. The listing also shows stock at participating RazerStores.

Kuromi Gets the Smaller Hardware

Razer Hammerhead V3 X HyperSpeed – Kuromi Edition

Meanwhile, the Razer Hammerhead V3 X HyperSpeed – Kuromi Edition takes the collaboration into true wireless territory. Its lilac-and-black case is sculpted into Kuromi’s silhouette, while her signature skull emblem appears on each earbud stem.

See? Even with that tiny amount of space, Razer found somewhere to put the character.

The earbuds feature Razer HyperSpeed Wireless for low-latency, multi-platform gaming audio. Their arrival celebrates Kuromi’s October birthday, with the launch scheduled for October 13 through Razer.com and RazerStores in selected countries.

As of October 11, I could not find a live U.S. purchase listing or a confirmed U.S. price for this edition. American fans will have to wait a little longer for those details.

There’s a Matching Desk Setup, Too

The Pompompurin collection’s existing keyboard, mouse, and mouse mat have also expanded beyond their original Target-exclusive U.S. debut. You can now order them directly from Razer’s U.S. store.

The Ornata V3 Tenkeyless keyboard costs US$119.99, the DeathAdder Essential mouse is US$49.99, and the Gigantus V2 Medium mouse mat goes for US$29.99. All carry the matching character treatment, so your headset need not be the only thing declaring your allegiance to the beret-wearing dog.

Sony makes you put the headphones away to show off its collaboration. With Razer, you can leave the packaging at home. Oh. There’s already a Kuromi Edition Razer Kraken Kitty V2 BT (US$129), along with a gaming chair, keyboard, and more, if anyone’s interested.
