A Look Ahead To Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One

The next Mission: Impossible movie will be the seventh in the series starring Tom Cruise, and it promises more of the amazing stunts and globe-trotting spy intrigue that we’ve seen in the previous films in the franchise. What else can we expect from it and will it be a success?

The Current Market For A Spy Action Movie

A point in favor of the new Mission Impossible is that spy stories are currently popular, with Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre starring Jason Statham already released in 2023. The Night Agent was released by Netflix in March and quickly became one of the streaming service’s most popular debuts and was almost immediately renewed for a second series.

We can also see spy stories appearing in the online casino site from Paddy Power, where Spy Affairs by Cayetano features a variety of characters as the main symbols. This is alongside other popular themes such as ancient cultures, wild animals, and treasure hunting. These are games of chance where the different themes help them to appeal to a variety of players, and where the classic slot gameplay is tweaked with additional features.

Details Of The New Movie

Tom Cruise is back in the lead role as Ethan Hunt, trying to find a massively dangerous weapon that could wipe out most of the world’s population if it reaches the wrong person. Ethan is forced to weigh up the fates of the people he loves most against the danger the whole world is in if the mission goes wrong.

The cast also includes Hayley Atwell, Simon Pegg, Pom Klementieff, and Esai Morales. Some of the characters from previous installments are back, and we’ll be introduced to new characters as well.  After the theatrical release, it will be streamed on Paramount+, although no date for this has yet been revealed.

This is the sequel to Mission: Impossible – Fallout from 2018, and the next movie in the series has already been filmed. We can expect to see Dead Reckoning Part Two released in mid-2024, according to this Empire Online article, so don’t expect to see the story wrapped up in this first installment.

Will It Be A Success?

The Mission Impossible franchise has been increasingly successful over the last few films. With Fallout in 2018 grossing almost $800 million across the planet to become the most profitable title in the series to date. Can the new movie carry on with this level of success?

We can see in the trailer for the first part of Dead Reckoning that it features more of the stunts and action sequences that have captivated audiences since the first installment in 1996. The real secret to its success will be whether audiences are hooked by the new storyline and the characters that have been introduced to the series.

Fans of Tom Cruise and Mission Impossible will be eagerly waiting for this new movie. With spy themes currently attracting a lot of attention and following on from the success of the last installment, there’s a good chance that this is another major box office hit.
