This is the new AC Cobra GT Roadster. It looked like it has time traveled from the 1960s but somehow got refined in the process in the time machine. It has the image of the original AC Cobra yet it has nothing in common with the original, well, components-wise, that is. It is more.
Under its stretched hood of the new AC Cobra GT Roadster is a supercharged 5.0L (5,038 cm3) Ford 5.0 Coyote V8 engine producing 654 bhp and 780 Nm (575 lb-ft) of torque.
The power is put to good use at the rear wheels via a choice of 6-speed manual or 10-speed automatic. The result is a roadster that sprints from naught to 100 (0-67 mph) in just 3.4 seconds and maxes out at 278 km/h (173 mph).
Stopping duty is via 6-pod calipers paired to 394 mm discs front and 4-pod calipers with 378 mm discs. It rolls on large 21-inch wheels, wrapped in 275/35 R 21 and 325/30 R 21 rubbers front and rear, respectively.
The new AC Cobra utilizes a highly advanced extruded aluminum spaceframe chassis developed specifically for the car. This new chassis is extremely strong and light and has the perfect layout and optimized suspension geometry and weight distribution.
Moving to the interior, it fuses analog instrumentation and digital technology such as analog instruments with Digital Glass displays.
The new Advanced Driver Information Center (ADIC) technology shows all relevant engine information in direct line of sight of the driver and it does so without disrupting the interior design, or creating unwanted reflections on the windshield.
Standard equipment includes electric windows, climate control, and a sat nav/infotainment system. But those are not it. A comprehensive list will be revealed during the big unveil in April 2023.
In addition, there will be exclusive customer preview events in Europe in Sprint and Summer.
AC Cars have already started taking orders since the first details last December 2022. Meanwhile, you can still reserve a unit at accars.eu.
