Just when we thought artificial intelligence-generated head shots are creepy, a Japanese AI development company, DataGrid, took it to the next level by generating the entire body, complete with movements. Yeah, this is not KFC hunk. These are fake people with the entire body that move like real people too. According to a video posted by DataGrid on YouTube, they have successfully generated high-resolution (1,024 x 1,024 pixels) images of whole body of non-existence people using Generative Adversarial Networks (GAN), a similar technology used by NVIDIA.
In the sample video, DataGrid used these digital people to serve as virtual models for advertising and fashion. Like, who needs model anymore, right? Robots may be threatening people’s livelihood, but artificial intelligence may very replace some jobs too. Well, whatever they do, just don’t try replace humans (a plea to SkyNet, I guess?). We can live in peace. You know, like how Poe in Altered Carbon did. Anyways, have a look at this intriguing and yet creepy development.
