Times have really change. These days, when we buy things like appliances, we want to make sure they look good with the rest of the kitchen. You can try your best to imagine how they will look, or you can do what I used to do: photoshop the item into an image of your living, kitchen or whatever, or you could look to Amazon iOS Shopping app. Amazon has leverage on Apple’s ARKit to include augmented reality inside the app, so don’t need to do either.
With A.R. you can virtually place any of the “thousands” of products, rendered in 3D, anywhere you wish in your home, so you’d have a better idea how they will look against the overall home decor. For now, only iPhone 6s or newer can enjoy this AR feature, though, since the app leverages on Apple’s ARKit. No words on when Android will (or ever will) get the same feature with the Amazon shopping app. Take a look how it works in the official video below.
