Aston Martin has been a regular in announcing the fastest and most powerful variants of its drool-worthy rides. the latest to catch on to this title-grabbing fad is the V12 Vantage S Roadster that packs 565 HP and 457 lb-ft of torque, squeezed out from its AM28 6.0-liter V12 engine. the engine is paired to a Sportshift III seven-speed transmission which the British luxury sports car marque said was engineered “to exploit the full sporting potential of the V12 engine.” the gearbox features hydraulically actuated automated manual transmission offers motorsport-style paddle shift and is a good 44 lbs lighter than its forebear. the combination of the AM28 petrol unit and the Sportshift III results in a droptop that could rocket from standstill to 60 mph in mere 3.9 seconds (0-62 mph in 4.1 seconds) and finally topping out at 201 mph.
as with its coupe counterpart, the V12 Vantage S Roadster also received several race-used features including CNC machined combustion chambers and hollow camshafts. handling department is filled in by three-stage adaptive damping, three-stage DSC, two-stage ABS and ZF Servotronic power assisted steering, while stopping power is guaranteed by all-round carbon ceramic discs and finally, for the ‘motoring audiophiles’, you’d be glad that has a lightweight exhaust system derived from the marque’s holy grail, the One-77 hypercar. the V12 Vantage S Roadster will be offered with a slew of options including lightweight forged alloy ten-spoke wheels, sport and carbon-fiber lightweight seats, as well as interior Carbon Pack. availability and pricing are yet to be disclosed, but i am sure for those who can afford it, you’d be dialing for your favorite local Aston Martin agent already. keep going to hear the sweet growl of the new V12 Vantage S Roadster.
