Apple’s Smart Cover is stylish and functional, but the use of it leaves the iPad 2’s back venerable. luckily, the market is not lacking of product that will have its back covered and the latest to join the rank of back protection duty is this duo from Belkin. dubbed as the Snap Shield Secure and Emerge 024, this duo is based on Belkin’s original Snap Shield case. first off is the Snap Shield Secure – a thin, translucent case that snaps to the back of your iPad 2 and still allow you to show off the original iPad 2’s design elements. the Snap Shield Secure features an integrated steel strip that will hold the Smart Cover flat against its case when open.

next up, is the Emerge 024 – a more eye-catching case of the two. the Emerge 024 feature a perorated pattern and interchangeable colored inserts that user can rotate around to suit his/her mood. though i haven’t actually hands on with one but i would think the perforated design gives the case a more futuristic feel, and the color adds a wee of pop culture feel. the accompanying insert’s colors include red, blue, orange and green. both cases are constructed of durable polycarbonate topped with soft-touch finish. the latter is an essential for a slip-free handling of your iPad 2. needless to say, both models offer full access to all controls, ports and camera lens cutout.
