If you love the BMW iX but felt that the 516 HP isn’t enough for you or the 4.6 seconds century sprint isn’t quick enough, well, then perhaps the 2022 BMW iX M60 may tickle your fancy.
The BMW iX M60 is the second electric M from the German automaker after the BMW i4 M50. Previewed previously in October, the 2022 BMW iX M60 has been officially unveiled at the CES 2022 (Jan 5-8, 2022).
Billed as the most powerful model variant of its new technology flagship, the 2022 BMW iX M60’s electric motors offer 455 kW (610 HP) of electric power on the tap and a metal-twisting 1,015 Nm (749 lb-ft) of torque in Sport model or 1,100 Nm (811 lb-ft) when Launch Control is active.
The M60 is all-wheel drive and features M-specific chassis tuning – which includes an M-specific suspension setup.
The dual electric motors afford a century sprint (0-100 km/h or 0-62 mph) in just 3.8 seconds and it has an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph). Meanwhile, the onboard battery system provides up to 566 kilometers (352 miles) of range.
Like the “lesser” iX, it is the first model from BMW to use the latest generation of the iDrive display and OS. Yup. These days we are talking about OS for cars too. Honestly, I am not sure if it is a good thing…
The car further boasts mixed materials for increased rigidity and optimized weight, an optimized aerodynamic with a drag coefficient of 0.26 Cd, an extensive range of standard equipment, suited of driver assistance systems, a new generation of sensors, large BMW Curved Display, Bowers & Wilkins Surround Sound System, and more.
It is not clear if it will be available in the U.S. but it is available to order in Germany for €132.200 (or US$150,200+).
