Would you pay over a million for a custom motorcycle? Probably not, but I am sure there is someone who will, though that person would have to have a thing for Harley-Davidson and don’t mind it looking all blue and shiny. Like, super shiny. The Bucherer x Bündnerbike Blue Edition Harley-Davidson you see here is a result of a collaboration between Swiss luxury watch and jewelry brand Bucherer and Swiss Harley-Davidson customizer Bündnerbike.
Yes. This thing here cost well over a million, or 1.8 million Swiss francs (around US$1.79 million) to be precise. Yikes. That hell a lot money for any custom motorcycle, let alone a Harley-Davidson. While I cringed at the asking price, I can’t help to yearn for one. Man, just look at this thing. It is absolutely gorgeous. But it isn’t just any blue. It is iridescent blue, a custom paint job that required it to be silver-plated before six layers of paint are applied using a house-secret coating process.
Obviously, the engine is not the component that it so opulent. It was the trim on the Softtail Slim S that made this the ultimate luxury in motorcycling and it includes gold-plated screws, suspension, brake caliper, headlight housing, foot hold and more, plus no less than 360 diamonds and two safes (yes! Safes!) found on top of the dual fuel tank. The two safes, one is home to an enormous Dizzler diamond ring, while the other houses an one-of-the-kind motorcycle-inspired Bucherer timepiece.
So, in actual fact, you’d be paying for three luxury items; not just the motorcycle. Man, this custom Harley is truly out-of-this-world! Both in price and the details. This is one ride you wouldn’t want to park anywhere other than your military-grade security lock enhanced garage. It should be right smack in the middle of your ridiculous big penthouse’s living.
A year in the making, it two a team of eight staff from both companies, lending some 2,500 working hours to realize – all in the name of promoting Burcherer’s Blue Edition Collection comprising 16 exclusive timepieces created with 11 renowned watchmakers. So, will anyone actually buy this? I don’t know. Maybe. If there’s one thing this world lacks, it is definitely not super rich with a thing for exotic motorcycles. Skip ahead for the reveal video.
