it has been like five years since tablets have come into our lives and if at this point, you still deliberating about whether to dive into the world of tablet computing, mainly due to the fact that you can’t let of the traditional pen and paper combo, then the Casio Paper Writer Tablet is the perfect bridge that let you ease you into this unfamiliar ground. available in four flavors: V-N500-WJ, V-N500-J, V-T500-WJ, and V-T500J, these Android-powered tablets have both the traditional pen (aka stylus) input (in geek’s term), as well as the traditional notepad (in non-geek’s term) that allow you to scribble on with regular writing instruments. thanks to a front-facing camera, your scribbles won’t remain as traditional as before. it will capture images of whatever you have written on the notepad and turn them into digital image files. it is said that an accompanying software will then organize the capture images into searchable image. my guess is, it probably converts them to PDF. other features include a 10.1-inch LED-backlit multitouch display with pen support, a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor supported by 1GB RAM, 16GB internal storage supplemented by a microSD and SD card slots, Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity, USB port, HDMI, user-replaceable battery pack, NFC and LTE support, and front- and rear-facing cameras. additionally, the Casio Paper Writer Tablet is built tough and is splash-, dust- and shock-proof (up to 1m drop), and is capable of operating in -20 degrees Celsius environment. no word on their pricing or their availability at this point.
