Porsche Design Computer Mouse
thinking of carrying over your need for speed to your desktop? this PC & Mac compatible, 2-button scroll-wheel mouse should do the job. no, not really. it’s not a speeding mouse but rather a mouse that features aluminum scroll-wheel, high-res 2000 dpi sensor and 2.4 GHz technology in the shaped of Porsche 911. or at least you can pretend to be cruising down the ocean drive in the luxury sports car while you are slogging through your daily work. the Porsche Design 911 mouse retails at £42.55 (US$67), which is on the high side considering an average pricing for a wireless mouse is around US$25.

Porsche Design USB Stick (USB Thumb Drive)
take step a further to your Porsche ownership (whether you are or you are not a Porsche owner) by grabbing this 4GB USB thumb drive, in form of a Porsche sports car vehicle key. it will work with most operating system, like most thumb drives do. it also works with Porsche Communication Management system. er… what’s that?… ok. it’s obvious i’m not a Porsche owner. the Porsche USB stick retails at £22.98 (US$36), again a more expensive option to ordinary brand thumb drives. but a small price to pay for a dream (almost) comes true. start fantasizing about starting up the Porsche sports car whenever you plug in this thumb drive into you PC, just don’t try to crank the thumb drive.

Porsche Design Panamera USB Stick (USB Thumb Drive)
if Panamera is your kind of thing. there’s also a Panamera car key USB stick, which would be my personal choice. i have always liked the Porsche Panamera, regardless of what critics said. capacity is 4GB on this Panemera USB stick and there’s a sliding mechanism to extend and retract the stick. sneaky. with the USB retracted, it certainly looked like an actual Porsche Panamera car key. just make sure you don’t grab the wrong ‘key’ for your Panamera on your way out. as with the Porsche USB stick, it will work with most operating system and the Porsche Communication Management system. owning a Panamera stick is slightly dearer at £24.68 (US$39). design is nice but i hope Porsche Design would understand that 4GB is so over these days and minimum capacity would 8GB.

Ride on Design – the Ciclotte Exercise Bike

what looks like a contemporary art piece is actually the Ciclotte, a designer exercise bike. no, i did not get it wrong. the Ciclotte is designed by Luca Schieppati and made in Italy. it is constructed out of an innovative mix of carbon fiber, steel and glass fiber (i supposed they meant fiber glass?). technological approach has also been carried over to it’s functionality (not just aesthetic) such as touch screen display and epicycloid transmission system.

that’s just a brief introduction but now comes the golden question: how much? well… the Ciclotte will be yours for a cool US$10,700. whoa… oh, 3 colors (full carbon, silver & purple) will be available for it’s first release and customization to the frame with brands, names and graphics are possible upon request.

Lego 3D printer that builds… Lego out of Lego pieces

MakerLegoBot 3D Lego printer
don’t let SkyNET get a wind about this. this mean Lego Mindstorms NXT machine can churn out Lego models. yes, you heard it right, earthlings. throw in some A.I. (artificial intelligence), this machine could be replicating itself and an army of Lego minions. well, fear not. we are safe for now cos’ this machine currently builds simple Lego models only. *phew*

Will Gorman, a member of the BattleBricks, build this out of 3 Lego Mindstorms NXT Bricks, along with 9 NXT motors and 2400 lego bricks. this Lego Mindstorms NXT 3D Lego Printer is being showcased in the LegoWorld Expo (October 22nd to October 26th, 2010) in Zwolle, The Netherlands. Will cited his inspiration from MakerBot and RepRap. personally, i have read both websites and i am inspired to create one myself too. exploration (tech, not nature) is certainly exciting.

the MakerLegoBot receive its printing instructions from MLCad Lego file via a Java Application on a PC, determines the print instructions and sends the instructions to the MakerLegoBot for printing via USB. the MakerLegoBot works with 1×2, 2×2, 3×2, 4×2, and 8×2 Lego bricks and there’s a feed system in place which can hold approximately 35 bricks of each type. all i can say is ‘wow’.

you can buy one now but you can build one yourself with the detailed instructions HERE.

Easy 2 Pick Luggage Finder – the easy finder for luggage

Easy 2 Pick Luggage Finder 544px(photo source: amazon.com)
if locating your luggage at the luggage carousel is a stressful task for you, NAFTALI inc., an US-based company has an interesting solution. the product that NAFTALI thinks will help to relieve your problem is the Easy 2 Pick Luggage Finder. the Easy 2 Pick notifies user when the luggage emerges onto the luggage carousel, taking the guess work out of whether your luggage is out or it hasn’t. the Easy 2 Pick consists of a luggage tag transmitter for your luggage and a wireless keychain receiver.

when activated, the keychain receiver will beep, flash and vibrate once your luggage is within 90 feet of you. according to it’s manufacturer, Easy 2 Pick is FCC and CE approved and safe to use for flight. interestingly, the usage for Easy 2 Pick is not just restricted to traveling. you can use it to locate your car, keys et cetera. or maybe secretly tag someone you dislike or like so that you will know if he/she is in your vicinity. for whatever reason. nasty. not that i encourage this but that was just a thought.

get ready for some snow fun with Snow Shredder

Snow Shredder 544px(photo source: quirky.com)

i got to give this a big star for it’s design. the design of the Snow Shredder is really cool and resembles a Snow Ski, but this works only on a slope. get ready to rock the slope this coming winter and slide in style. want to shred the snow slope at night? not to worry, the Snow Shredder comes with a working headlight with an easy on/off button to make sure fun is not missed at night. obviously, the designer of this Snow Shredder knows you want to be in control, so it comes with a steerable wheel with adjustable heights up front for control your slide down slope. this should make control freaks happy. looks like adjustable steering is not just for automobile. the Snow Shredder fits 2 kids, aged 6 and up and as an added security, the kid behind gets to hold on to the handles if the ride becomes to rough. finally, a retractable hand up front enables easy towing of your slide up the slope for your next slide down slope. i love to have one of this but unfortunately, there’s no snow in this part of the world.
