Here’s something for super fans of Ultraman. The official Twitter account for the Shin Ultraman (literally, New Ultraman) has just shared two new visuals of the movie, a poster, and a banner.
Both visuals are expected to be gracing theaters in Japan starting on Friday, March 18. The poster is nothing out of the ordinary. It shows us the key cast for the new (giant) superhero movie. Meanwhile, the banner gives us a good look at the back of the newly designed Ultraman.
In the original TV series, Urutoraman trademark fin runs from the head all the way to the lower back. However, with the new design, it stops right on the head, thus offering a cleaner back.
That, of course, we already know – thanks to toys like the Bandai Dynaction Shin Ultraman and S.H.F. Shin Ultraman action figures. If anyone’s interested, we have actually reviewed the former.
The new Ultraman movie is scheduled to hit theaters in Japan on May 13, 2022. No words if it will be screened outside of the Land of the Rising Sun. We sure hope it will, or be made available in streaming platforms as the Evangelion 3.0+1.0 did. Fingers crossed. Meanwhile, in case you missed it, here’s the first trailer posted last December:
